Lying on the warm, fine sand of a typical Bahamian beach and gazing drowsily across the impossibly blue sea, it is hard - that is if you are not a seasoned scuba diver, or snorkeler - to imagine the incredible wealth of life which exists beneath the surface.
Whether you are an expert or a novice, or just happy to be soaking up the sun, your imagination cannot help but be captured by the beauty and wonder of the creatures of the deep. These ten photographs, taken by Greg Johnston, a young Canadian who has been diving in the Bahamas for many years, give a fleeting glimpse of that underwater world. From the awe-inspiring reef shark to the tiniest of sea anemones, all are beautiful in their own way and deserve a lasting place in our memories of the Bahamas.
